Boa Kwon ( Kwon Boa, born November 5, 1986), commonly known by her stage name BoA, which is a backronym for Beat of Angel, is a Korean singer, active in South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Born and raised in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, BoA was discovered by SM Entertainment talent agents when she accompanied her older brother to a talent search. In 2000, after two years of training, she released ID; Peace B, her debut Korean album, under SM Entertainment. Two years later, she released her debut Japanese album, Listen to My Heart, under the Avex label. On October 14, 2008, under SM Entertainment USA, a subdivision of SM Entertainment, BoA debuted in the United States with the single “Eat You Up” and released her debut English-language album, BoA on March 17, 2009.

Avatar, also known as James Cameron’s Avatar, is a 3-D science fiction epic film written and directed by James Cameron, due to be released on December 16, 2009 by 20th Century Fox.

The film will be released in 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters.

The film is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film’s production.

The film is Lightstorm Entertainment’s latest project, and focuses on an epic conflict on a far-away world called Pandora, where humans and the native species of Pandora, the Na’vi, engage in a war over the planet’s resources and existence.

In a far-distant future, the storys protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former U.S. Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth.

Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk.

Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying.

Pandora is also home to the Navi, a sentient humanoid race, who are considered primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans.

Standing three meters tall (approximately 10 feet), with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Navi live in harmony with their unspoiled world.

As humans encroach deeper into Pandora’s forests in search of valuable minerals, the Navi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.

Samuel Henry J. “Sam” Worthington (born 2 August 1976) is an Australian actor of British descent. He is known for his roles as Jake Sully in the 2009 film Avatar and as Marcus Wright in Terminator Salvation. He is set to play Perseus in the 2010 feature film remake of Clash of the Titans.

Career

After graduating from NIDA in 1998, Worthington performed in a production of David Hare’s play The Judas Kiss for Company B at the Belvoir St Theatre.

He went on to act in a series of Australian movies and TV series; including a breakout role in Bootmen (2000) and leading roles in Dirty Deeds (2002), Gettin’ Square (2003), Somersault (2004) and a modern Australian retelling of Macbeth (2006). Worthington was nominated in 2000 for Best Lead Actor by the Australian Film Institute (AFI) for his work in Bootmen and eventually won the 2004 AFI Award for Best Lead Actor for his role in Somersault. Worthington’s international film career began with a series of small roles in Hollywood productions such as Hart’s War (2002) and The Great Raid (2005), which was filmed in Australia. He was one of several actors who was under consideration to take over the role of James Bond from Pierce Brosnan for the 2006 film Casino Royale.

In 2007, James Cameron chose Worthington for a leading role in his science fiction thriller Avatar. This was a huge project for Worthington, an ambitious effects-laden film that marked Cameron’s first film in more than a decade and required the actor to film on locations in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.
